Zoning regulations affect not only what land uses are permitted on a property but also what can be built, as well as provides other regulations such as lot size, type of buildings, etc.
The City of Brampton has recently approved a new Comprehensive Zoning By-law 14-2026. However, it is currently under appeal to the Ontario Land Tribunal. Until the appeals are resolved, both Zoning By-law 270-2004 and Zoning By-law 14-2026 apply with the most restrictive provision from each taking precedence. Residents and applicants should review both by-laws when considering establishing a new use or completing construction on their property.
