- I forget my password. How do I reset it?
You can use the "I’ve forgotten my password" feature on the login page to request a new, temporary password. You will receive an email from the City of Brampton with password reset information. Be sure to check your junk/spam folder.
- I forget my username. Can I get into the portal?
You can use either your username or email address to log into the online portal.
- How do I update my contact information on BramPlanOnline?
You can edit your account information in the BramPlanOnline portal under the 'My Account' section. Once there, you are able to manage your “Login Information,” “License Information,” and “Contact Information.”
- Will my information be shared with the public?
Limited information in your application will be available to the public. No ownership or other personal information will be available to the public, and only information classified under the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act will be accessible to the public.
- Can I change my username?
You can change your username as well as your email address for the account. Log into your profile on the online portal and access the 'My Account' menu to review details of your account and make changes.
- Can I submit documents through this application portal?
Yes, you can easily submit and upload documents. Please refer to our for document requirements.
o Login to BramPlanOnline
o Access Files
o Click the blue File Number you want to upload documents to
o Click File Info to expand the tab and select “Documents”
o Click Add and upload your documents
- Can I submit a planning application in person at City Hall?
During Covd-19, and until further notice, we will be accepting applications online via BramPlanOnline.
At the time City Hall re-opens to public for additional services, the Planning Department will begin taking in applications pertaining to planning and development.
- I need help with my planning application, what should I do?
BramPlanOnline contains useful tips to assist with your online application. You can access the “Quick tips”, as well as the “Frequently Asked Questions” documents on the Planning and Development webpage for detailed information, descriptions, and examples for guidance. If you need to contact City staff regarding your application, you can contact Service Brampton by phone at 3-1-1, (905) 874-2000 if outside city limits, (Mon.-Fri., 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) or by email 311@brampton.ca.
- I started an online application, but I can't finish it. Will I have to start all over?
BramPlanOnline's save and resume feature allows you complete your application at your convenience. If you don't have everything you need to apply, you can save your application and return to it later.
- How do I check the status of my planning application?
Changes to your application status or requests for further information will be emailed to the applicant. As the applicant, you can also check the status of your online application anytime:
o Login to BramPlanOnline
o Access Files
o Click the blue File Number you want to upload documents to
o Click File Info to expand the tab and select “Processing Status”
o Click Add and upload your documents
- Can I manage my existing applications through BramPlanOnline?
Yes, however you will need to first register for an account, then send an email to planning.development@brampton.ca which includes your first and last name, and the file numbers associate with your applications - they will then be linked to your account.
- Can I still submit my application and documents using the FTP website?
The City of Brampton’s primary method of receiving planning and development applications is through using BramPlanOnline. Applications received through the FTP portal will be requested to be entered in BramPlanOnline.
- I made a mistake on my online application, what should I do?
If your application hasn't been submitted, you can make changes at any time. you cannot dlete uploaded documents, nor canyou delete an entire application. If you need to report a mistake on your application please email planning.development@brampton.ca with your File Number and Identify the error(s).
- I am applying online through BramPlanOnline. Can I make a payment online?
Yes, you can apply online via credit card (we currently take a variety of cards to accommodate our residents, business owners, and consultants). - Can I make partial payments for my applications?
No, in order to process and proceed with the application
we require a full payment of the required fees.
- How can I submit payment?
Online payments under $10,000 can be made through your BramPlanOnline account.
o Login to BramPlanOnline
o Home (top left tab)
o Select My Files
o Under Action you will see Pay Fees Due
o Input your Credit Car Information and Press Okay
- My Application Fees are higher than $10,000, how can I pay?
Payments can be made via cheque. You can mail in with the following information:
o Send to to: Brampton City Hall, 3rd Floor (2 Wellington Street West, L6Y 4R2)
o Make payable to: The Corporation of the City of Brampton
o Memo line: File number and Address in the Application
Currently, we are not accepting in-person payments; City Hall is closed to the public to help slow the spread of COVID-19. Please refer to the City's online Support page for further information.
- I need to cancel my application and be refunded, what can I do?
If you are seeking a refund, you will need to correspond and negotiate directly with the Planner on file. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis.
- Can I make online payments for multiple applications?
You can only make payments for one application
record at a time.
- I'm having difficulty making an online payment, where do I go for help?
If your payment was successful, there will be a confirmation in your application record on the BramPlanOnline portal. If you are experiencing difficulties with your payment, please call 3-1-1 Brampton at 3-1-1 (905-874-2000 outside city limits) or email planning.development@brampton.ca.
- How much are the development charges related to my application?
Development charges are charged in accordance with the City's Development Charge By-law. The City has provided a Development Charges Calculator as an online tool to assist in determining the expected development charges, education levies, cash in lieu of parkland, and finance administration fees.
