License a Pet

License a Pet

A pet license has important information that can assist Brampton Animal Services in returning pets to their owners in the event they get lost. If you own a pet in Brampton it must be licensed or you could face a fine as per by-law 250-2005.

Pet owners who do not have a lifetime license for their pet are required to renew their license on a yearly basis. (Note: Yearly licenses are valid from January to December; licenses obtained during the year will need to be renewed in January.)

License Fees

*Dogs must be microchipped when applying for a lifetime dog licence. Please include a copy of the microchip certificate.

Note: Licenses for Pit Bull type dogs can only be purchased at the animal shelter. Applications for Pit Bull licenses must be accompanied with a copy of microchip and spay/neuter certificates.
