Pet Adoption Process

Animal Services always has a variety of pets looking for homes. You may visit animals at the shelter during our adoption viewing hours and ask staff about pet ownership responsibilities and the needs of a new pet. Alternatively, you can view adoptable pets on our website.

If there is a particular pet you are interested in adopting, you will need to fill out a short questionnaire. These can be filled out in person during our adoption viewing hours or completed at home using the links below under Adoption Forms. You may print off your completed application and bring it or email it to us during your visit.

After your questionnaire is approved, some steps are required to bring the new pet home.

  • You must provide valid government-issued identification with proof of your current address.
  • All residents of your household will be required to meet the animal.
  • If it is a dog you are looking to adopt, any current household dogs will be required to have a meet-and-greet session with the prospective dog.

Once all the required steps are completed, the new pet will be ready to go home and start its new journey in life. This can happen on the same day if you come ready.

Please note we are unable to place holds on potential new pets.
