Starting in late 2019, the City of Brampton began developing a new Official Plan “Brampton Plan”.
Following extensive public engagement in the Fall of 2017, the Brampton 2040 Vision was endorsed by Council in May 2018. This Vision depicts a more sustainable, urban, and vibrant future for the City. Brampton Plan is a continuation of this process, and the new Official Plan provides direction to ensure all City planning, projects and development are working together efficiently to achieve the aspirations of the Brampton 2040 Vision.
Brampton Plan was developed through discussion papers, multiple drafts, and extensive public engagement including city-wide workshops, public townhalls, a speaker series, radio series, focus groups, open houses, and public meetings.
Brampton Plan was adopted by City Council in November 2023 and approved by the Region of Peel in May 2024. To
