Commemorative Renaming

On August 5, 2020, City Council approved renaming the Flower City Seniors Centre to the Bob Callahan Flower City Seniors Centre in honour of former Wards 3 and 4 Brampton Councillor Bob Callahan, who served on Brampton City Council from 1969 to 1985 and 1997 to 2014. During this time, he was instrumental in the development of many Brampton institutions, including the Peel Heritage Complex, City Hall, Gage Park Recreational Skating Trail, the Powerade Centre (now CAA Centre), Alderlea, South Fletcher’s Hockey Complex, new courthouse, and double tracking for the GO trains. He was dedicated to the needs and wellbeing of Brampton’s seniors, and was a member of the Brampton Senior Council. The Seniors Centre officially opened in Fall 2005 offering drop-in and registered fitness, education and culture, sports, arts and crafts and special events programming for older adults.

We Are Open

The Bob Callahan Flower City Senior’s Centre is open for all programs by pre-registration and walk-in visits. We are pleased to resume program offerings for cards, fitness, sports, shuffleboard and carpet bowling, technology, billiards, hobbies and crafts.

Pre-registration is available online using an existing or new City of Brampton Recreation registration account. View this tutorial for a step-by-step guide on how to set-up a new account. Should you have questions, please email our team at recreation@brampton.ca for support. Alternatively, residents are encouraged to call 311 or visit us in-person in the centre for registration support.

The café is open from 10 am – 2 pm Monday to Friday. Hot food specials will be promoted on certain days.
