How to Verify:

Bring an acceptable form of photo ID showing your Brampton address (e.g., a Driver’s License meets both requirements) to any recreation centre customer service desk. Staff will confirm your residency and update your account. It's that easy!

How to Check if your Account is Verified:

Sign in to your Recreation account on desktop
Select the family member's profile
Click the "Account Validation" tab
Look for “Account & Residency Validated” with a checkmark and validation date.

If this section is missing or incomplete, your residency is not verified.

Why do I need to verify my account?
We’re verifying residency and identity to ensure that eligible Brampton residents receive benefits like Council-approved resident rates, early registration and access to recreation services. This helps us serve our community better and keep our records up to date.
Who needs to complete the verification?
All adults (18+) using City of Brampton recreation services must verify their residency and identity. Children under 18 must have a verified adult listed on their account. If you have a membership and are 14 or older, you’ll also need a current photo on your profile.
How do I verify my account?
You can verify your account by visiting the customer service desk at the following Recreation Centres with acceptable documentation:

To verify your account, bring:
- Photo ID, and
- Proof of Brampton address
- (e.g., Driver’s License meets both requirements)
What happens if I don’t verify my account?
If your account isn't verified by October 1, 2025, it will be marked as non-resident.
This means:
- Non-resident surcharges will be applied for programs, memberships, and facility bookings.
- Access to drop-in activities will change to 1-hour vs 25-hours for residents
What if my account is not verified, and how can I fix it?
If your account does not display “Account and Residency Validated,” your residency has not yet been confirmed, and your account is not identified as a resident account.
To verify your account, visit the customer service desk at any Brampton Recreation Centre with the following:
- Photo ID, and
- Proof of Brampton address (e.g., driver’s license meets both requirements).
A staff member will validate your account on the spot, and resident benefits—including access to resident registration timelines and rates—will be reinstated immediately once validation is complete.
Why am I receiving email reminders to verify my Recreation Registration Account?
You would receive email reminders because our records show that your email address is linked to a Recreation Registration Account that has not yet been verified.

Communications may be sent for one of the following reasons:
- Your account has not yet been validated.
- An individual aged 18+ linked to the email address has not completed their account validation.
- Multiple accounts are associated with the email address.
To check your account verification status:
- Sign in to your Recreation account on a desktop computer.
- Click on the family member’s name.
- Select the “Account Verification” tab.
- If your account is verified, you’ll see a check mark and a completion date beside “Account and Residency Validated.”
I’m currently out of the country and can’t verify my account in person. What should I do?
All accounts that are not verified by the deadline will automatically be marked as non-resident. You can reinstate your resident benefits at any time once you return by visiting the front desk at your nearest recreation centre in person with proof of address and photo ID (i.e. a Driver’s License).
Be sure to complete this before registering for programs to avoid non-resident surcharges and registration timeline restrictions.
Can I email my driver’s licence or documents to verify my account?
No, verification cannot be completed by email. To protect your privacy, verification must be done in person so staff can confirm your identity against the ID provided.
Any accounts not verified by the deadline will automatically be marked as non-resident, but you can reinstate resident benefits at any time by visiting the front desk at your nearest recreation centre in person with proof of address and photo ID (i.e. a Driver’s License).
