All camps scheduled July 8 to 12 will be part of the Brampton Honey Badgers Summer Camp Takeover. Campers will enjoy games and activities, attend a Brampton Honey Badgers basketball game at the CAA Centre, have a visit with the Brampton Honey Badgers Mascot, Hammer, players and coaches, and receive a t-shirt and give-a-aways.Who are the Brampton Honey Badgers?The Brampton Honey Badgers are one of the original franchises of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL). The 2022 CEBL Champions Brampton Honey Badgers proudly call the CAA Centre home. The Brampton front office and basketball operations department bring NBA, NBA G League, national team, NCAA and major international pro league experience to the franchise. With a vision of promoting Brampton grassroots basketball and local businesses through community and corporate engagement, the Honey Badgers will leverage the explosion of basketball as a vehicle for innovation and change. For more information visit www.honeybadgers.ca.When is the Brampton Honey Badgers game?All camps the week of July 8 will attend a BHB game on Wednesday, July 10 at the CAA Centre. The game starts at 12:30 pm.How will the campers get to and from the game?All camps will be taking a school bus to and from the CAA centre during camp hours. Campers will arrive back at their designated locations prior to camp pick up time.Why am I paying an additional fee of $25 for this week of camp?An additional fee of $25 will be added to all camps for the week of July 8 to 12 which is a subsidized rate to cover the cost of the game ticket, transportation to and from the CAA Centre, t-shirt, and additional activities.Can I opt out of the BHB activities? If you would like to opt of the planned BHB activities, you will need to register in person at a recreation centre to waive the additional camp fees. Please note, by opting out, your child will not attend the game on July 10 or receive a t-shirt. Campers who do not attend the BHB game, will be able to stay at their camp location and participate in fun filled camp activities with a camp leader.How do I receive a refund for the $25 if my child is not attending the BHB activities?All refunds must be requested no later than Tuesday, July 2 from one of the following options:In-person at your local Recreation Centre Email Recreationadmin@brampton.ca Call 311Can I pay this additional fee with my Active Assist funds?Yes, if you are an approved ActiveAssist client, your Active Assist funds can be used for this additional $25.Media and PhotographyPlease be advised, photos and video will be taken throughout the event which may include images of participants and staff.
