What is the Accessibility Support Discount?

The City of Brampton is committed to promoting social inclusion and creating access to recreation for Brampton residents. Eligible applicants can obtain a Accessibility Support Discount (20% discount off the current rates) for an annual City of Brampton Fitness or Swim/Skate Membership. Discounts are applied in accordance with the City of Brampton User Fee By-law, as amended from time to time.

Individuals with a permanent, temporary episodic disability or medical condition lasting 12 months or longermay qualify for the City of BramptonAccessibility Support Discount. Those who have disabilities or medical conditions that are not fully corrected by technical/ assistive aids (e.g. glasses, hearing devices. etc.), and significantly affect daily activities (e.g. mobility, communication, learning, self-care, etc.) may be eligible for the discount.

What Do I need to Apply?

What memberships are eligible for this discount?
This discount is available for City of Brampton Annual Fitness Memberships and Annual Swim/Skate Memberships.
How do I renew my membership?
Standard membership renewal processes apply. Annual memberships are valid for one year and must be renewed annually to maintain access and eligibility.
How do I apply?
To apply for the discount, you must submit a completed Eligibility for Accessibility Support Discount Declaration Form along with all required supporting documentation. Completed applications can be submitted by email to activeassist@brampton.ca.
What documentation is required to apply?
Applicants with a permanent disability or medical condition must provide:
- Proof of identity
- Proof of Brampton residency
- one approved government-issued document (i.e. Disability Tax Credit certificate, Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) documentation, or Passport Program documentation)
Applicants with a temporary disability or medical condition must provide:
- Proof of identity
- Proof of Brampton residency
- A completed Eligibility for Accessibility Support Discount Declaration Form
- Physician’s Reference Form completed by a qualified healthcare professional
Who is eligible for this discount?
You may qualify for the discount if you have a permanent, temporary, or episodic disability or medical condition that is expected to last 12 months or longer. The disability or medical condition must not be fully corrected through technical aids, such as glasses or hearing devices, and must significantly affect daily activities such as mobility, communication, learning, or self-care.
