As part of the Brampton Grow Green Environmental Master Plan (EMP), the City is committed to being a Green City that is healthy, resilient and environmentally sustainable. To achieve this goal, we need to work together. Environmental Stewardship is a share responsibility between the City, residents and property owners.

The Grow Green Recognition Program acknowledges the efforts of residents, organizations, developments, and businesses that actively contribute to our Green City. The program showcases local champions that take action to advance progress towards each of the Core Components of the EMP: People, Air, Water, Land, Energy and Waste.

By participating in the Grow Green Recognition Program, you will join a community of like-minded individuals and entities dedicated to creating a greener future. Whether you have implemented innovative green initiatives at work or adopted eco-friendly practices at home, we want to hear your stories and highlight your achievements. Participants in the program also increase their chances of being nominated for a Grow Green Award!

The Grow Green Recognition Program has launched with two water-related focus areas:

  • Rain Ready Home recognizes residents taking action to prevent flooding and absorb rainfall. Eligible flood prevention actions include any of the recommended actions in the Flood Guide or Rain Ready Homes webpage. Eligible absorption practices include rian gardens, rain barrels, green roofs, permeable pavement, and depaving.

  • Stormwater Steward recognizes private property owners that inspect and maintain private stormwater management facilities, such as ponds, green infrastructure, and water quality units.

Apply for the Grow Green Recognition by sharing what you are doing around your home or property in an email to growgreen@brampton.ca.
