​Rule No. 14

Harassment

 
       1.   Members shall be governed by the City’s current policies and procedures as amended from
             time to time, regarding a respectful workplace, workplace harassment prevention and
             workplace violence prevention.
 
       2.   Harassment by a member of another member, staff or any member of the public is
             misconduct.
 

       3.   Upon receipt of a complaint that relates to Rule No. 14, the Integrity Commissioner may

             investigate it under the terms of the Complaint Protocol.

 

 
Commentary
 
It is the policy of the City of Brampton that all persons be treated fairly in the workplace in an environment free of discrimination and of personal and sexual harassment. The City of Brampton’s is developing a Res​pectful Workplace Policy​ (Harassment and Discrimination) to ensure a safe and respectful workplace environment and appropriate management of any occurrences of harassment and discrimination as defined by the policy.
