Fishing in Brampton must follow both municipal and provincial regulations.
Brampton Park Lands By-Law 161-83
Fishing is only permitted in designated shoreline locations, as posted by the City. The following rules apply:
- The use of live bait and fish netting is prohibited.
- Cleaning or disposing of fish in the park or lake is not allowed.
- Ice fishing is prohibited unless part of a City-sponsored event or program.

Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources Fishing Regulations
The Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources governs fishing across the Province, including Brampton, which is in Fisheries Management Zone 16. Regulations cover:
- Allowed fishing seasons and catch limits to protect fish populations.
- Licensing requirements (anglers need a valid Outdoors Card and Fishing Licence).

Enforcement and Reporting Violations
Fishing is only permitted on City-owned lands at Professor's Lake, Eldorado Park, and Parr Lake North and South. The City of Brampton enforces these regulations through
Parks Lands By-law 161-83.
