Adopt-a-Park

Families, neighbourhoods, civic groups, businesses, and individuals are encouraged to get involved in the preservation and enhancement of the parks system.

Volunteers can donate time and resources to give special care to a City park by helping maintain, beautify, and enhance the open space and keep the park safe for all to enjoy. By adopting a park, a group of volunteers pledges to conduct 6 stewardship activities or events over the 2 year adoption period.

How much does it cost to adopt a park?: It is free of charge.
How long does the application process take?: The process takes up to 10 business days. Once the application is approved, applicants will receive a partnership agreement, welcome page and Certificate of Adoption.
What is involved in adopting a park?: The group will commit to maintain the park for two years. Within these two years, the group will lead clean-ups and park stewardship activities. The program requires a minimum of three activities be performed per adopted year (or six activities throughout the two-year commitment).
Who can adopt a park?: Neighbourhood groups, schools, families, friends and businesses. We recommended a group of five or more participants.
Do you have to be a Brampton resident to adopt a park?: No, anyone can adopt a Brampton park.
