Riding an Electric (pedal-assisted) e-scooter is a sustainable, fun, and easy way to move around Brampton! The City of Brampton launched its Shared E-Scooter Pilot Program in 2023.
Program Highlights
The City concluded its 2025 season in November, here are some highlights of the program:
- The three shared e-scooter operators (Neuron Mobility, Bird Canada, and SCOOTY Mobility) deployed up to 900 e-scooters across the City in 2025.
- Estimated CO2 savings from the Pilot Program range from 76 and 105 metric tonnes since 2023, contributing to the City’s goal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
- Approximately 200,000 users made around 400,000 trips, covering more than 3 million km so far.
- A formal evaluation of the program so far will be reported to Council in 2026 to assess the long-term feasibility of shared e-scooters in Brampton.

Connecting You to Transit, Faster and Easier
Brampton Transit is one of the fastest-growing transit systems in Canada, with ridership now surpassing pre-pandemic levels and reaching over 40 million trips each year. This incredible growth shows that Brampton residents are ready to choose sustainable, reliable ways to move around the city.
Shared e-scooters build on this success by making it easier to reach transit—especially in neighbourhoods where walking distances can be long. Trip data and user surveys show that up to 40% of riders use e-scooters to connect to public transit, helping to close that first- and last-mile gap between homes, schools, workplaces, and Brampton’s main transit lines.
E-scooter trips are concentrated along key corridors and near major transit hubs like the Downtown Terminal, Bramalea GO, and Gateway Terminal. This pattern has guided operators to deploy more scooters along busy bus routes and near stops where riders need them most.
Whether you're catching a bus during the morning rush, heading to class, or travelling during off-peak hours, e-scooters offer a flexible, convenient way to get to transit—helping you complete your journey smoothly and sustainably.
About
The pilot program will allow City staff to assess the performance and operation of a micromobility system under a test environment and gather data to support recommendations for a possible permanent solution.
Estimated CO2 savings from the Pilot Program range from 76 to 105 metric tonnes since 2023, contributing to the City’s goal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The pilot demonstrates how the City can encourage more sustainable, green, attractive, healthy and safe local travel options for the community.
The program provides sustainable transportation options to the community while solving public transit’s last-mile challenge, reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, supporting active transportation, improving transportation choice and cost of living, reducing car use and congestion, and supporting the tourism economy.
