Sustainable, reliable and fun, shared e-scooters make it easier to move around the city, especially in neighbourhoods where walking distances can be long.
By providing more transportation choices, the program reduces car dependency, relieves congestion and supports the tourism economy.
Connecting You to Transit
Whether you're catching a bus during the morning rush, heading to class or travelling during off-peak hours, e-scooters offer a flexible, convenient way to get to transit—helping you complete your journey smoothly and sustainably.
Trip data and user surveys show that
up to 40% of riders use e-scooters to connect to public transit, helping to close that first- and last-mile gap between homes, schools, workplaces, and Brampton’s main transit lines.
E-scooter trips are concentrated along key corridors and near major transit hubs like the
Downtown Terminal, Bramalea and Mount Pleasant GO and Gateway Terminal. This pattern has guided operators to deploy more scooters along busy bus routes and near stops where riders need them most.
About the program
The City of Brampton launched its E-scooter Pilot Program in 2023 to advance urban mobility and sustainable transportation options for residents and visitors.
The pilot demonstrates how the City can encourage more sustainable, green, attractive, healthy and safe local travel options for the community.
Since its launch, the program has achieved a number of notable milestones:
- Approximately
440,000 trips
- Approximately
200,000 users
-
900 e-scooters deployed per day
- More than
1,000,000 km travelled
- Estimated CO2 savings around
30 tons-CO2 equivalent
The pilot program will allow City staff to assess the performance and operation of a micromobility system under a test environment and gather data to support recommendations for a possible permanent solution.
