The City of Brampton's Leaf Vacuum Program is anticipated to begin on Monday, October 27, 2025, and will continue until mid-December 2025. The program end date may be adjusted, depending on weather and the volume of falling leaves.
The Fall Leaf Vacuum Program includes collecting leaves from specific streets in downtown Brampton and in the residential area of the Churchville Neighbourhood. These areas contain aged infrastructure, support a significant tree canopy and are located within the local Conservation Authority designated flood plain, which places them at higher risk of flooding.
The remainder of the city is serviced by the Region of Peel's Waste Collection Program. Prior to cleaning, notices will be delivered to program area residents. Each street is identified on the map. Please note that private streets and condominiums in leaf collection zones do not receive the program service. Using leaf vacuum vehicles, work crews collect the leaves residents rake to the curb. The program is provided in partnership with the Region of Peel in neighbourhoods which have a large volume of leaves, by providing recycling services at the Region of Peel’s Composting Facility.
Preparing for leaf pickup:
- For Downtown and Churchville neighbourhoods, rake your leaves into a neat pile on the boulevard’s edge or into your ditch a day or two before the start of your collection.
- Do not mix other items such as wood, bricks, or brush as they can damage equipment and injure workers.
- Do not pile your raked leaves on the sidewalk.
- Keep the road and curbside storm drains clear of raked leaves.
- Do not place garbage bags or bins on top of loose-leaf piles.
- Remove parked cars and sports equipment from the road.
