Whether you're a local vendor or visiting from out of town, there are specific requirements to operate booths, tents, trucks, carts or trailers within our city. Please review the information below to ensure you are fully compliant before participating in any special event.

Special Event Permit is required for all food vendors participating in a special event, where the vendor’s food is prepared or apportioned on site.
How to Apply
Requests for a special event permit must be submitted online through the Special Event licensing application form below. A 50 per cent non-refundable deposit is required when submitting your application. This deposit will be applied to your final licensing fee upon the issuance of the licence. If you do not have access to a computer, a kiosk is available at 8850 McLaughlin Rd. S., Building 2 for applicants to submit their application.

Business Information
- Articles of Incorporation (if applicable)
- Business Registration (required in addition to Articles of Incorporation if operating name differs from incorporated name)

Certificate of Insurance
- Certificate of Insurance with not less than $5 million in general liability insurance.
- The insurance must outline the date and location of the event.

Criminal Record Check
- Level 2 Criminal Record Search obtained from municipality of residence, valid for 120 days from date processed.
- Only required if applicant is over the age of 18, or if the applicant does not already hold a City of Brampton licence for fixed food premises, in-town catering or refreshment vehicle.

- Original vehicle ownership

- Cart ownership, registration or bill of sale

Original Mechanical Safety
- Mechanical Safety Certificate from the Ministry of Transportation (valid for one year from the date of the inspection)

Event Organizer Documentation
- Letter of permission or approval from the event organizer confirming the applicant’s name in the list of approved vendors, or a confirmation email or letter from the event organizer approving participation

- Special Event Permit - $137.00 per event, valid for the duration of the event. (Fees do not apply to City of Brampton businesses that possess an in-town catering licence, fixed food premise licence or refreshment vehicle licence.)
