Community Rides

The City of Brampton's Community Rides are a series of annual FREE casual bike rides held in Brampton from late May to November. Led by citizen volunteers from the Brampton Active Transportation Advisory Committee (ATAC), these group rides offer residents and visitors the opportunity to explore Brampton on bicycles, meet other cyclists, and enjoy a free refreshment.

All cyclists are welcome, whether Brampton residents or visitors. The routes range from 5km to 15km, depending on your comfort level. Experience cycling in Brampton!

Thank you to all who joined us during our 2025 riding season. Past rides from 2025 or prior seasons, and events, are available on the City’s Ride with GPS map. Details and registration for the 2026 rides are included below, and full details will be announced in the spring.

Ride Participation Overview

Agree to the terms of the liability waiver to ensure a smooth, quick start. Riders participating in the ride do so at their own risk and are requested to agree to the terms of the liability waiver before participating. Proper helmet use is strongly encouraged and is mandatory for those under 18. Parents have a duty to ensure that children under 16 wear helmets. Riders might be photographed for promotional purposes. We can accommodate you if you decide to join us at the last minute.

You are encouraged to cycle to the start. Use the Google Maps link to the event location to plan your route from home. Select the bike symbol to allow Google to help you choose your route.

There will be a short briefing before our ride starts. Please review the important safety information in advance. Pay attention to the ride leader, the marshal, and the sweep.

Count on the 5km route taking 45 minutes and the 15km ride taking 1½ hours. Route lengths and times are approximate. Select the shorter route if this is your first time or you are unsure about your abilities.

No one is left behind. If you must leave the route, please notify the Ride Sweep, who is trying to keep track of our riders!

The City of Brampton provides complimentary refreshments to registered participants at the end or mid-point of the ride (depending on the ride). Volunteers will be available upon request to escort participants from the snack location back to the meetup location, if desired.

Routes are carefully planned to showcase the city's diverse features. Pre-registered riders will be contacted via text or email with 2 hours' notice if the ride is cancelled (e.g., due to thunder or lightning).

Have fun! Additional questions, contact cycling@brampton.ca.
