Downtown Brampton

​​Aligned with Brampton 2040 Vision and the Term of Council Priorities​, we are investing in building a City of Opportunities to support a creative, innovative, and entrepreneurial environment. Downtown Brampton is undergoing a transformation.

The Centre for Innovation, the Downtown Transit Terminal and the Hurontario-Main Light Rail Transit (HMLRT) are three major initiatives that have been unanimously approved by Council. These initiatives, will support downtown revitalization and new developments, creating complete communities, unlocking economic potential and reinforcing Brampton’s position on the Innovation Corridor.

With the Brampton Co-working Space, Rogers Cybersecure Catalyst, expansion of Algoma University and the numerous events in Garden Square, exciting things are happening in Downtown Brampton.


Demolition underway!

​Downtown Brampton is undergoing transformation. Starting today until January 23, demolition of City-owned buildings will take place at 21 Nelson St. This location will be part of the Innovation District and Centre for Innovation (CFI).

Ryerson Innovation Zone coming soon!

​The City of Brampton and Ryerson University have signed an agreement to establish the Ryerson Innovation Zone in Downtown Brampton, an exciting milestone for postsecondary education in the city. 

Brampton exploring additional options for postsecondary education

In line with the Term of Council Priorities, the City of Brampton is continuing to pursue options for the establishment of a university in Brampton.

Three transformational initiatives approved

Brampton City Council unanimously approved moving forward on three major projects that will spur downtown revitalization and enhance​ the downtown.
