Festival and Event Information

Buzz into Spring is a free, family-friendly community event designed to celebrate the arrival of spring! Families are invited to enjoy spring-themed activities, engaging entertainment, and take away a delicious treat to enjoy at home. The event takes place at select community centres across the City, bringing residents together to connect, celebrate and kick off spring in a fun and inclusive way.

Brampton’s annual Canada Day event is a celebration that brings residents together to celebrate this national holiday in a fun, engaging and unified way for the community.

The Community Eid Celebration in the City of Brampton is a vibrant, family-friendly event that brings residents together to celebrate Eid in a welcoming and festive atmosphere. The event features a variety of free activities, including cultural displays, stage programming, games, entertainment, giveaways, and halal food trucks, offering something for all ages to enjoy.

Diwali, also known as Deepavali, is the festival of lights celebrated by Hindus, Jains, Sikhs, and Buddhists. The City of Brampton hosts an annual celebration featuring traditional décor, shopping, family-friendly activities, live performances by local and international artists, and a spectacular fireworks display.

The City of Brampton’s Family Day celebration is a city-wide event featuring free, family-friendly activities held at recreation centres and outdoor locations across the city. Programming includes public skating, swimming, sports, cultural and entertainment experiences, and interactive drop-in activities designed for all ages to enjoy over the Family Day weekend.

The City of Brampton Farmers’ Market is hosted every Saturdays from June to October 8 in downtown Brampton from 8 am to 1 pm. Residents are welcome to visit their favourite farmers and vendors for fresh local produce and prepared packaged food. 

Fright Nights are free, family-oriented events hosted each October to celebrate Halloween. Activities take place at local community facilities including Gore Meadows Community Centre, located in north east Brampton, and Professor’s lake, located in central Brampton.

Garba is a traditional dance performed around lit earthen lamps symbolizing the Hindu Goddess Shakti, representing feminine creative power and energy. Brampton’s outdoor Garba event features family-friendly programming, live traditional music and dance by local and international artists, and a variety of food vendors.

The City of Brampton is pleased to present the Mount Pleasant Night Market, running from June to August. Attendees can enjoy a vibrant mix of food and retail vendors, a beer garden, free kids’ activities, and live entertainment.

The City of Brampton annually hosts Movies Under the Stars, where outdoor movies are presented free for families to attend in their local parks during the summer season. Food trucks and vendors are also on site.

Every year, the first week in May is dedicated to National Youth Week. In celebration of youth and to encourage active living, the City hosts special programming throughout the week at various recreation centres.

Every year, thousands of residents head downtown Brampton for a night out of skating in Gage Park, a live performance from incredible Canadian artists, and a dazzling fireworks display presented by our Mainstage sponsor.

Winter Lights Weekend is about celebrating Santa’s arrival to Brampton. The weekend traditionally kicks off by lighting the way for Santa, with Mayor and Members of Council at the annual Tree Lighting ceremony. The 60ft. spruce tree is decorated with over 10,000 Christmas lights lit up at Ken Whillans Square. Residents are invited to take part in free family fun activities, start their holiday shopping by visiting the unique vendors at the weekend long Christmas Market and walk through Gage Park to see its light displays.
