New Year's Eve

Celebrate NYE 2020 in downtown Brampton!

Roll into the roaring 2020’s with a free concert opened by Wing Night and headlined by JUNO-award winning artist, Magic!.

Get dancing at the kid’s dance party in City Hall starting at 6:30pm alongside family-friendly activities and instagrammable photo ops. 

Ride there for free with Brampton Transit starting at 7pm, and enjoy spectacular fireworks in Garden Square, presented by Tim Hortons. We’ll count you down to the new year at 9pm (for those who can’t stay up late) and midnight!​​

Additional Information

​Due to the large scale of the event, and to ensure the safety of residents and event guests, temporary road closures will be in place which may affect entry and/or exit to certain residence. 

Residents and event attendees are asked to obey all posted parking regulations. Illegally parked vehicles may be ticketed and/or towed.

The following roads will be closed:

  • Main Street will be closed from Wellington Street to Nelson Street/Theatre Lane from 5pm to 1:30am (January 1st)  
  • Queen Street will be closed from Theatre Lane/Chapel Street to George Street from 5pm to 1:30am (January 1st) 
  • The Northbound curbside lane of Main Street South will remain open from Wellington Street to John Street

​There are 5 municipal parking garages in downtown Brampton that have free parking for the Winter Lights Festival. Parking is free after 7pm on Friday and all day Saturday. Click here to view the parking garage map for downtown Brampton.

​Free Brampton Transit service will begin at 7pm on December 31, 2019.

Brampton Transit routes in the vicinity of the road closures will be on detour from 5pm to 1:30am (January 1st) ​

Brampton’s New Year’s Eve Celebration is Going Green by implementing the following initiatives:

  • Single-use plastic will not be provided on-site (water bottles, straws and utensils) 
  • Vendors will use biodegradable containers and recyclable utensils for food service 

​Brampton's New Year’s Eve celebration will operate during rain, shine, or snow. Cancellations may occur due to extreme weather conditions. Be sure to check the City of Brampton social media accounts @CityBrampton on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram regularly for updates on inclement weather.
