The Community Safety & Well-Being Office (CSWO) successfully launched the
Neighbourhood Association Guide in 2024, as one tactic from the Council-approved
Community Safety Action Plan (2022-2027). The Neighbourhood Association Guide shares information for capacity building and establishing a network of residents to support working collectively to address and overcome safety concerns in their neighbourhoods. It includes input from existing Neighbourhood Associations and community leaders in Brampton. Thank you to all those who shared their input and feedback!
Affiliated Neighbourhood Associations
Turn your neighbourhood group into an Affiliated Neighbourhood Association and gain access to City benefits, project support, and funding from the Nurtured Neighbourhood Grant. In 2024, the Affiliated Neighbourhood Association program was well received by participants, with the successful completion of 52 neighbourhood projects, participation from over 6,000 residents, and 97% sharing that their projects led to an increased sense of belonging in their neighbourhood!
In 2025, new applicants were invited to apply for affiliation and receive up to $1,500 from the Nurtured Neighbourhood Grant. Returning applicants that were affiliated in 2024 had the opportunity to renew their affiliation and receive up to $2,000 from the Nurtured Neighbourhood Grant.
From 2024 to 2025, the number of Neighbourhood Associations grew by 37 per cent, demonstrating CSWO's expanding reach in the community. A total of 52 neighbourhood associations became City-affiliated in 2025, which includes 21 new groups. Based on the applications, it is anticipated that 138 projects will be completed by Neighbourhood Associations this year to foster an enhanced sense of belonging and connectedness across Brampton.
