The Community Safety & Well-Being Office (CSWO) successfully launched the
Neighbourhood Association Guide in 2024, as a key initiative from the Council-approved
Community Safety Action Plan (2022-2027). Neighbourhood Associations play an important role in fostering community connections, building neighbourhood pride, and empowering residents to work together to identify and address local concerns.
The Neighbourhood Association Guide supports residents in developing effective neighbourhood networks and enhancing community safety amd well-being through collective action. It includes input from exisiting Neighbourhood Associations and community leaders in Brampton. Thank you to all those who shared their input and feedback!
Affiliated Neighbourhood Associations
Turn your neighbourhood group into an Affiliated Neighbourhood Association and gain access to City benefits, project support, and funding from the Nurtured Neighbourhood Grant. Neighbourhood Associations qualify for up to $1,500 in their first year of affiliation and returning Neighbourhood Associations qualify for up to $2,000 in grant funding.
In 2026, there are 64 Neighbourhood Associations, and we look forward to their resident-led projects and events across Brampton!
Last year, the Affiliated Neighbourhood Association program was well received by participants, with the successful completion of 85 neighbourhood projects and participation from over 7,000 residents. Approximately, 88 per cent of Neighbourhood Associations affiliated in 2025 reported an increased sense of safety due to participation in the program.
