Ontario Arts Council Grant Information Session
Culture Brampton hosts the Ontario Arts Council (OAC) for an information session on the Engaging Communities and Schools funding stream.
Loree Lawrence, the Community-Engaged Arts Officer at Ontario Arts Council (OAC), will present on OAC’s Engaging Communities and Schools funding stream and specifically, the Artists in Communities and Schools Projects program. The session will include a discussion about community-engaged arts, the range of activities and projects that are supported through the funding stream and program, and important elements to consider when preparing an application.
Community-engaged art practices are forms of collective artistic expression. In this field, individuals who aren’t professional artists actively participate in the artistic process, and the artistic process is considered as important as the final artistic product. Both the social and artistic outcomes of community-engaged art have value.
