The Black community has a legacy of entrepreneurship and trade that stretches back over 300 years, well before the transatlantic slave trade. African civilizations were engaging in global commerce and navigating Atlantic trade routes long before 1619. This rich heritage of enterprise continues today and the Black Empowerment Unit is committed to advancing it here in Brampton.
