Becoming an Election Worker

​​​Interested in working the 2026 Municipal Election? Follow these five simple steps to apply, complete training, and join our team on Voting Day.

Step 1 - Review Available Positions

Explore the various​ election worker opportunities available:

  • Location Supervisor
  • Assistant Location Supervisor
  • Deputy Returning Officer (DRO)
  • Tabulator Attendant
  • Accessible Unit Attendant
  • Greeter

Review position descriptions, responsibilities and compensation to determine which role is right for you.

Step 2 - Apply Online

Complete the online application​.

  • Submit your contact information
  • Select your preferred position(s)
  • Indicate your availability

Step 3 - Attend Training

Successful applicants will be required to attend mandatory in-person training prior to working.

Training Session Lengths:

  • Location Supervisors, Assistant Location Supervisors and Deputy Returning Officers: 3-hour session
  • Tabulator Attendants and Accessible Voting Unit Attendants: 2-hour session
  • Greeters: 1-hour session

Training is paid and will take place starting September through October.

Step 4 - Work on Voting Day

Put your training into action and help deliver a successful voting experience for Brampton residents. Voting Day is on Monday, October 26, 2026.

As an election worker, you will:

  • Assist voters
  • Support accessible voting
  • Issue ballots and process registrations
  • Ensure election procedures are followed

Step 5 - Payment

After completing your election worker duties, payment will be processed.

  • Payment​ will be issued approximately eight (8) weeks following the election
