Interim and Final Tax Bills

City of Brampton 2021 Residential Final Tax Bills are projected to be mailed out on June 16, 2021. If you do not receive your tax bill, please contact Service Brampton at 311, or if calling outside the City limits call 905.874.2000 or at brampton.ca/contact. Please note that failure to receive a tax bill does not exempt you from paying your taxes and the penalties added for late payment.

For Tax Deferral Accounts

Please be advised that if your tax account was approved for either the Interim 2021 or Final 2021 Tax Deferral Program, the tax amounts outstanding for both these periods are deferred until December 15, 2021. Please note an Amended tax bill was mailed for the deferred Interim 2021 taxes. The Final 2021 Deferral tax bill has been issued for the last six months of the taxation year. Please review the Account Summary portion on your tax bill, to view the total account balance of your tax account. The Instalment Due Date amount on your Final 2021 Deferral tax bill only represents tax amounts related to the Final 2021 Tax Billing and not the entire 2021 tax year. The tax account can be viewed on line at www.brampton.ca/mypropertytax​ or for additional inquires please contact 311 or (905) 874-2000 if outside Brampton.

Interim Tax Bills:

Interim taxes equal 50 per cent of your previous year's taxes adjusted for any supplementary taxes or cancellations done for a portion of the year as if the additional taxes or cancellation had applied for the entire year. For accounts that did not exist in the previous year, interim taxes will approximate 50 per cent of a full year's taxes. ​​​​​​​​​​​​

Property assessments are updated by MPAC every four years. Assessment increases are phased-in over the four year period. Decreases in assessment are implemented immediately. The current period covers 2017-2021 with an assessment valuation date of January 1, 2016.​​​

​​Final Tax Bills:

Your final tax bill is based on your 2021 phased-in assessment value and reflects any changes in municipal taxes and the education portion of your taxes. ​

The Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) is responsible for placing a value on all properties in Ontario. From the information supplied by MPAC, the City of Brampton calculates the tax amounts and issues the tax bills.​
