​​​​​​City of Brampton receives Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for 2016-2018 Approved Business Plan and Budget ​(media release)

2016-2018 Business Plan and Budget Approved

City Council approved the 2016-2018 Business Plan and Budget at the Special Council Meeting of December 9, 2015.
Brampton residents will see an increase of 2.9 per cent on their overall tax bill in 2016 for municipal services (region, city and school boards):
  • 1.1 per cent for day to day operations
  • 1.3 per cent for infrastructure repair and replacement
  • 0.5 per cent for the City's new and enhanced services, such as expanded Züm transit service
For the average residential property assessed at $398,000 this equates to an increase of $124 per year on the overall tax bill for municipal services.
  • $49 for day to day operations
  • $54 for infrastructure repair and replacement
  • $21 for the City's new and enhanced services
Approved for 2016 is:
  • An operating budget of $607.0 million
  • A capital budget of $113.6 million
