The City of Brampton's 2025 Proposed Budget is focused on driving progress and prosperity, while enhancing quality of life for residents. The budget prioritizes affordability, community spaces and active living, Brampton Transit improvements, health care and revitalizing infrastructure to create a resilient future for Brampton.

The budget results in a property tax increase of 2.9% for the City, equating to an annual increase of $194 on the average residential home. This balanced approach allows Brampton to continue growing while remaining an affordable and attractive place for residents and businesses.

2025 Proposed Budget Highlights

Critical infrastructure investments: Building a resilient future to meet both current and future needs

  • $23.8​ million for the Downtown Revitalization

  • $15 million for the Riverwalk

Community spaces and active living: Creating modern, inclusive amenities that inspire recreation and foster pride

  • $29 million for the new Embleton Community Centre and Library

  • $23 million for winter-optimized facilities such as the Earnscliffe Cricket Dome

  • $14 million for the construction of Cassie Campbell Field Hockey

  • $5 million for park enhancements and playground upgrades

  • Additional outdoor ice rinks

  • Enhancing recreation programs by five per cent to serve an additional 8,000 participants

Brampton Transit enhancements: Aiming to reducing commute times and prioritizing sustainable transportation options

  • $300 million committed to the construction of Transit's third facility

  • 52,000 additional service hours to reduce wait times

Prioritizing health care: Strengthening health care infrastructure to meet the needs of Brampton's growing population

  • $10 million for the TMU School of Medicine, opening in 2025

  • $81.1 million in reserves to date and $4.9 million in levies for second hospital ​

About Brampton's Budget Development Process

The annual budget identifies priorities, goals and initiatives to ensure the City is investing in the priorities that matter to residents. This year’s budget aligns with the City’s Corporate Strategic Plan 2022-2026 and commits record-level investments into the community.

​As part of the budget process, r​esidents and businesses are invited to share their feedback. Community feedback is a critical step in helping to shape Brampton’s 2025 Budget.
