If a vehicle exceeds the posted speed limit in an ASE-enforced area, the ASE system captures an image that is stored and reviewed by a provincial offences officer. The ticket, which contains a digitized copy of the image and an enlargement of the plate portion, is mailed to the registered plate holder – regardless of who was driving.

There is no Set Fine for instances where a vehicle has exceeded the posted speed limit by 50 km/h or more. In these circumstances, a summons will be served to the registered vehicle owner to appear before the Court.
