​​​​BRAMPTON, ON – Beginning August 17, 2026, the City of Brampton will introduce HONK, a mobile parking platform that provides drivers with additional convenient ways to pay for and manage parking across the City’s downtown parking garages. 

In addition to the current Pay by Plate system, HONK allows drivers to find available parking within the City’s parking garages, pay for parking and extend their parking sessions remotely. Drivers can pay for parking using HONK in the following ways: 

• ​HONK App: Download the free HONK app, available for Apple and Android devices. 
• QR Code: Scan the QR code displayed on parking signage. 
• Text-to-Pay: Text the Zone ID displayed in the garage to 75498 to receive a secure payment link. 
• Website: Visit the HONK website to pay for parking from any web browser. 

The City's existing Pay by Plate system will continue to be available at all municipal parking garages using pay stations. Parking rates remain unchanged. 

Parking throughout downtown Brampton

Downtown Brampton has several parking garages, offering hundreds of spaces, including accessible parking, electric vehicle charging stations and bike racks. They are located at: 

• John Street Parking Garage (16 John St.) 
• West Tower Parking Garage (41 George St. S.) 
  
• City Hall Parking Garage (2 Wellington St. W.) 
• Market Square Parking Garage (1 Theatre Ln.) 
• Nelson Square Parking Garage (2 Diplock Ln.) (Parking remains free)  

Paid parking is in effect Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. The first two hours of parking are free, followed by $1 per 30 minutes, to a daily maximum of $9. Parking is free on weekends and holidays. 

The introduction of HONK builds on the City's ongoing efforts to modernize municipal parking services by providing more convenient and flexible payment options, making it easier for residents and visitors to access downtown Brampton, local businesses, attractions and City services.
