BRAMPTON, ON — The Victoria Day Holiday falls on Monday, May 18, 2026, this year. In observance of the holiday, most City of Brampton offices, including City Hall, will be closed.
Essential and Critical Services
All essential and critical services, including Fire and Emergency Services, Traffic Services, Enforcement and By-law Services, Road Operations and Security Services, will continue to operate as usual.
Experience Brampton
Looking for things to do around the city this Victoria Day long weekend? Splash pads are opening for the season on May 15, weather permitting, with more than 20 locations across Brampton ready for residents and visitors to splash and play. The wading pool at Chinguacousy Park will also open for the season on May 16 (weather permitting). Throughout the spring and fall, the wading pool will be open on weekends only, and in the summer, it will open daily. Visit brampton.ca/splash to ensure splash pads and the wading pool are open before visiting. Closures may occur due to inclement weather, such as outside temperatures less than 20°C or rain.
Catch the Brampton Honey Badgers home opener on Friday, May 15 at the CAA Centre as they face off against the Ottawa BlackJacks. The Honey Badgers also host the Calgary Surge on Sunday, May 17. Grab your tickets at honeybadgers.ca.

Fireworks Safety
The safety of residents is the City’s top priority. Under the Fireworks By-law, the use, purchase, discharge, possession, display, sale and offering of fireworks is prohibited, except for City-led events. Sparklers are permitted. Service Brampton
Service Brampton is available 24/7, including holidays, with only urgent service requests handled between 12 a.m. and 7 .am. Residents can contact Service Brampton for any City of Brampton and Region of Peel inquiries by using the Brampton 311 app (available on the App Store and Google Play), visiting 311brampton.ca or by dialing 3-1-1 or 905.874.2000 (outside Brampton). Non-urgent requests should be submitted through the app or online at 311brampton.ca.
Brampton Transit
Brampton Transit will be operating on a Sunday/Holiday schedule on Monday, May 18. Customer Service counters at the terminals will be closed. Clark and Sandalwood Facilities, including Lost and Found, will be closed. The Contact Centre will be available to assist from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 905.874.2999. Brampton Parks
All City trails, playgrounds and parks, including off-leash dog parks, remain open throughout the Victoria Day Holiday weekend. Visit brampton.ca/parks to explore the more than 850 parks and recreational trails in Brampton.
Brampton Recreation
Select Recreation Centres will be open with modified holiday hours during the long weekend. There will be no registered programs on Monday, May 18. Residents are encouraged to check their registration receipt for exclusion dates and visit brampton.ca/holidayhours for holiday hours, program listings and facility information.
Brampton Library
Brampton Library All Brampton Library branches will be closed on Sunday, May 17 and Monday, May 18. Visit us during our hours of operation to freely borrow books, movies, board games, seasonal activity kits, birdwatching kits and more. Get your free Library card here!

Brampton Animal Services
The Brampton Animal Shelter will be closed on Monday, May 18. Animal Services officers will be on the road for patrol and will continue to respond to emergency calls after hours.
