BRAMPTON, ON – During the upcoming holiday season, Brampton City Hall will be closed to the public from Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at noon, reopening on Friday, January 2, 2026, at 8:30 am.
Essential and Critical Services
All essential and critical services, including Fire and Emergency Services, Traffic Services, Enforcement and By-law Services, Road Operations and Security Services, will continue to operate as usual.
Winter in the City

Brampton Transit

Reduced weekday service will be in effect with School Special Service, Secondary School extra trips and route 199 UTM Express cancelled. 501 Züm Queen weekday frequency will be adjusted to 7.5 minutes during AM and PM peak periods. 511C Züm Steeles frequency will be adjusted to 22 minutes during AM and PM peak period.
Regular service resumes on Monday, January 5, 2026.

Brampton Transit Clark and Sandalwood Facilities, including Lost and Found, will be closed from December 24, 2025, at 12 pm until January 1, 2026. Both Facilities and Lost and Found will re-open to the public on January 2, 2026.
The Transit Service Centre's and Contact Centre will be closed on Thursday, December 25, 2025, and Thursday, January 1, 2026.

Brampton Recreation
All City of Brampton recreation centres will be closed on Christmas Day (December 25) and New Year’s Day (January 1). Facilities will operate on modified hours on Christmas Eve (December 24) and New Year’s Eve (December 31). Outdoor rinks will run on adjusted holiday hours between December 21 and January 2, visit brampton.ca/outdoorskating for hours of operation. Regular recreation centre and outdoor rink hours resume January 2, 2026. Registered programs such as swimming and skating lessons are not scheduled during the holidays.
Winter 2026 Program Registration

Free winter break indoor skating presented by Capital Power
This winter break from December 21 through January 5, Brampton residents can enjoy free indoor skating at select arenas across the city. Whether you are a novice skater or seasoned on the ice, this family-friendly activity offers a fun way to stay active and enjoy time together, no matter what the weather. Thanks to the generous support of Capital Power, skaters of all ages can lace up and glide across the rink at no cost, making it easier for the community to enjoy this activity. Winter break camps
Register for one of Brampton’s winter holiday break day camps. Residents from ages 4 to 13 years old can explore a variety of programming, including sports, cooking and science camps. Fireworks Safety
The safety of residents is the City’s top priority. Under the Fireworks By-law, the use, purchase, discharge, possession, display, sale and offering of fireworks is prohibited, except for City-led events. Sparklers are permitted. For more information, visit brampton.ca/fireworks.
