​BRAMPTON, ON — Civic Holiday falls on Monday, August 4 this year. In observance of the holiday, most City of Brampton offices, including City Hall will be closed. ​​

Essential and Critical Services ​

All essential and critical services, including Fire and Emergency Services, Traffic Services, By-law and Enforcement Services, Road Operations and Security Services, will continue to operate as usual. ​

Fireworks Safety 

The safety of residents is the City’s top priority. Under the Fireworks By-law​, the use, purchase, discharge, possession, display, sale and offering of fireworks is prohibited, except for City-led events. Sparklers are permitted. Penalties for failing to comply range from $500 to $1,000 and may reach up to $100,000 if a court summons is issued. For more information, visit brampton.ca/fireworks. ​

Service Brampton 

Service Brampton is available 24/7, including holidays, with only urgent service requests handled between 12 am and 7 am. Residents can contact Service Brampton for any City of Brampton and Region of Peel inquiries by using the Brampton 311 app (available on the App Store and Google Play), visiting 311brampton.ca or by dialing 3-1-1 or 905.874.2000 (outside Brampton). Non-urgent requests should be submitted through the app or online at 311brampton.ca. ​

Brampton Transit

Brampton Transit will be operating on a Sunday/Holiday schedule on Monday, August 4. Customer Service counters at the terminals will be closed. Clark and Sandalwood Facilities, including Lost and Found, will be closed. The Contact Centre will be available to assist from 7 am to 9 pm at 905.874.2999. Brampton Parks 

All City trails, playgrounds and parks, including off-leash dog parks, remain open throughout the Civic Holiday weekend. Visit brampton.ca/parks to explore the more than 850 parks and recreational trails in Brampton. ​

Brampton Recreation 

Select Recreation Centres are open with modified hours during the long weekend. There will be no registered programs on Monday, August 4. Visit brampton.ca/holidayhours for holiday hours, program listings, centre information and more. ​​

Brampton Library 

All Brampton Library branches will be closed on Sunday, August 3 and Monday, August 4. Visit us during our hours of operation to freely borrow books, movies, board games, seasonal activity kits, birdwatching kits and more. Get your free Library card. ​

Brampton Animal Services 

The Brampton Animal Shelter will be closed on Monday, August 4. Animal Services officers will be on the road for patrol and will continue to respond to emergency calls after hours.
