​​BRAMPTON, ON — This year, Canada Day falls on Tuesday, July 1. In celebration of Canada’s 158th birthday, most City of Brampton offices, including City Hall, will be closed in observance of the holiday. ​

Essential and Critical Services

All essential and critical services, including Fire and Emergency Services, Traffic Services, By-law Enforcement, Road Operations and Security Services, will continue to operate as usual. 

Canada Day 2025 in Brampton

Celebrate Canada Day country style at Chinguacousy Park, generously sponsored by Tim Hortons, Genesis Brampton and Skydome Group. This family-friendly event promises live music, delicious eats, engaging activities and a spectacular fireworks display.

Hosted by Jesse Jones, this year’s Canada Day main stage features local and rising stars Kat Pinhorn, Deejay T-JR, Quote The Raven and Brampton’s own Leah Holtom, programmed by The Jones & Jones Group. The evening continues with award-winning Canadian Country artists Teigen Gayse and the JUNO and Canadian Country Music Award (CCMA) winning James Barker Band, followed by multiple JUNO and CCMA Award winner Dallas Smith, who will be joined by a very special guest. Enjoy a dazzling fireworks display

End the night with a spectacular fireworks display presented by Tim Hortons! The safety of residents is the City’s top priority. Under the fireworks by-law, the sale or use of fireworks is not permitted in Brampton, with the exception of City-led events. Hand-held sparklers are permitted. Brampton Recreation 

Select Recreation Centres are open with modified hours on Canada Day. There will be no registered programs on Tuesday, July 1. Visit brampton.ca/holidayhours for holiday hours, program listings, centre information and more. 

Service Brampton 

Service Brampton is available 24/7, including holidays, with only urgent service requests handled between 12 am and 7 am. Residents can contact Service Brampton for any City of Brampton and Region of Peel inquiries by using the Brampton 311 app (available on the App Store and Google Play), visiting 311brampton.ca or by dialing 3-1-1 or 905.874.2000 (outside Brampton). Non-urgent requests should be submitted through the app or online at 311brampton.ca​. ​

Brampton Transit

Brampton Transit will be operating on a Sunday/Holiday schedule on Tuesday, July 1. Customer Service counters at the terminals will be closed. Clark and Sandalwood Facilities, including Lost and Found, will be closed. The Contact Centre will be available to assist from 9 am to 6 pm at 905.874.2999. Brampton Parks 

All City trails, playgrounds, and parks, including off-leash dog parks, remain open on Canada Day. Visit brampton.ca/parks to explore the more than 850 parks and recreational trails in Brampton. ​

Brampton Library 

All nine library branches in Brampton will be closed on Tuesday, July 1, in observance of Canada Day. Be sure to visit your favourite library branch before Canada Day arrives to browse and borrow new and favourite books and more!
