City of Brampton seeks public input on Additional Residential Units

BRAMPTON, ON (April 20, 2021) – The City of Brampton is looking for community input on a Policy Review regarding Additional Residential Units (ARU) in response to Housing Brampton, the City’s affordable housing strategy, which will help bring new housing supply to market more quickly.

The Province’s Bill 108 More Homes, More Choice Act, 2019, transforms Ontario’s existing land-use planning system, requiring municipalities to adopt policies permitting additional residential units in detached structures.

Developing policies on ARUs aims to reduce zoning barriers, create more housing supply, and increase affordable options within the city.

Residents are invited to share their feedback through an online survey here.
