BRAMPTON, ON (August 23, 2021) – The City of Brampton’s Arts, Culture & Creative Industry Development Agency (ACCIDA) is asking local artists and arts organizations to complete the BIG Brampton Artist Space Survey to provide feedback on accessing affordable space across the city. Access to space to create, present, facilitate workshops, set up offices, display and sell work is critical to the creativity and success of Brampton’s art community, especially as the sector looks to recover from COVID-19.

The BIG Brampton Artist Space Survey will be available until Friday, September 24. Everyone who participates will be entered to win a $100 gift certificate to Curry’s Art Supplies and all artists and arts organizations are encouraged to participate.

ACCIDA is a unique organization incubating under the City of Brampton focused on growing, celebrating, advocating for and connecting the sector through a variety of programs, services and resources. Feedback from the arts community will help guide programming and supports, including the need for creative space.

ACCIDA is hosting an online Artist Community Roundtable to discuss space for artists on Thursday, August 26 from 6:30 to 8 pm. This free event will bring together a panel of experts including representatives from the City of Brampton’s Planning and Urban Design teams, researchers and theatre producers to discuss how artist communities and spaces can be supported.
