Five Fun Summer Activities in Brampton

The City of Brampton is buzzing all year long with activities, events and local eats, but summer in the city is especially vibrant.

Here are five activities you can enjoy this season.

1. Experience Brampton Farmers’ Market

Brampton kicked off its 35th season of the Farmers’ Market. Enjoy freshly-picked seasonal produce, delicious prepared foods and unique handcrafted goods.

Over 30 vendors are participating this year with many favourite and new farmers and local artisans.

The market runs on Saturdays from 8 am to 1 pm until October 23 and is located in Gage Park, Ken Whillans Square and on Wellington Street West. Free parking is available in the underground lot at City Hall.

2. Taste the globe

Tour the tastes of the world in your own backyard. Brampton is home to a vibrant and multicultural community which is reflected in the many cuisines available throughout the City.

Enjoy unique tastes that are globally inspired and locally routed. From gourmet pretzels, delicious doubles, monstrous burgers to rich seafood, flavourful curries and sweet fusion milkshakes, your cravings for authentic food will be met.

Try local favourites such as King Tandoori, Danforth Food Market, Little Shop of Icecream, Segovia Coffee, Sonny’s and more.

3. Cycle the City

Gear up and pedal through the streets and recreational trails of Brampton.

The City is home to approximately 460 km of linear cycling infrastructure including bike lanes, recreational paths, urban shoulders and multi-use paths, and is looking to expand further by the end of 2021 with an additional 29.3 km.

Cycle through the scenic Etobicoke Creek Recreational Trail that extends 34.5 km. This anticipated interregional connection from Brampton to Mississauga and Caledon is now complete.

4. An outdoor adventure

Brampton has many outdoor amenities and activities for all ages to enjoy.

Whether you are in the mood to be adventurous or kick back and relax, there’s something for everyone to do.

 5. Watch it LIVE

Experience virtual and live entertainment with your friends and family.

The City hosts numerous events including live theatre, Garden Square virtual programming, and signature celebrations.

The Rose is offering free virtual performances, outdoor activations in Garden Square and on The Rose Patio, and its first indoor show since March 2020. Get free tickets to see Serena Ryder on August 26 in person, or virtually.
