July 2026 marks the 100th anniversary of the Royal Canadian Legion. This artwork was commissioned by the City of Brampton to commemorate this milestone, honouring the veterans who have served, and the families who have supported them. Members of local Royal Canadian Legion Branches 15 and 609 were consulted during the creation of the mural and helped to shape the imagery and narrative, such as the inclusion of peanut butter, a staple frequently sent in care packages to loved ones serving overseas.

This piece explores the different ways we remember and support one another. Through scenes of care, service, and connection, the poppy ties each story together. Inspired by the idea that remembrance is a year-round commitment, this work celebrates the everyday acts of gratitude, service, and human connection that help keep the stories and sacrifices of our veterans alive. ~Chelsea Charles
