Your Support Makes the Magic Possible

Ride to the Rose

Seniors living independently can struggle with feelings of isolation and loss of community that come with decreased mobility.

At the Rose Theatre we have created and successfully implemented, for three seasons, the Ride to the Rose program which provides free transportation and discounted tickets for seniors over the age of 65. We pick up seniors at their home in a free wheelchair accessible vehicle and bring them door to door with a group escort on every bus.  It is a special experience for seniors who are living independently, giving them an evening out in the community and enjoying great entertainment - completely worry free!

This is a pioneering program that the Rose Theatre is very proud to facilitate as we have a mandate to serve and entertain the community.

Student Outreach

Every student in our community deserves to have an experience with live theatre and the arts and yet, thousands don’t have the financial means to attend a performance. Together with our community partners and generous supporters like you, we will be able to open our doors and share the arts with those who would not otherwise have the chance.

Last year over 900 Peel Region school children saw educational performances free of charge at the Rose Theatre.

Youth Mentorship

At the Rose Theatre we have created and successfully implemented, for five seasons, the Centre Stage program. Centre Stage, which began in 2007, is a program dedicated to supporting pre-professional artists through mentorship and performance opportunities.  It is open to Brampton students from Grade School through High School and features all genres of performing arts.  The program gives them the priceless opportunity to get the full star treatment and  perform for an audience from a professional stage.  Once finalists have been selected, they are mentored and prepared for their journey to take “centre stage” at the Concert and Awards Gala held at the Rose Theatre. Each finalist is awarded time to perform as well as a commemorative trophy to celebrate their experience and commitment to developing their art.

From auditions in November to the gala performance in April, the Rose Theatre serves as a bridge between emerging artists and the professional world by introducing the young artists to professionals in their artistic field. The support does not end when the gala is done. Throughout the year the finalists are invited to perform at several other professional events, engaging the broader community, and building more performance experience.

Hands-on learning is exciting and fun for children and adults alike. Live performances bring us together to connect with and understand the world around us, and sometimes even inspire us to think about life a little differently. We truly believe that it is never too early or too late to find your love of live entertainment and learning. Our educational initiatives include arts camps and programs both in the classroom and at the theatre.

Free Community Events

We produce non-ticketed events all year long; it is one of the cornerstones of our community outreach.  We present top notch entertainment for over 150,000 citizens each year at our large outdoor festivals as well as the more intimate performances in the patio and Garden Square.
