BBQ Safety

Spring is in the air and it’s time to get your grill on! Whether you're cooking with gas, charcoal, wood or pellets, safety is your responsibility. Before we fire up those BBQs, take the time to prepare for a safe grilling season ahead.
  • Clean your BBQ. Remove excess grease and debris to help improve the performance of your grill and prevent future safety issues.
  • Properly turn your grill on and off. Follow all manufactures safety recommendations to make your backyard grilling as safe as can be.
  • BBQ in a safe space. BBQ's should only be used outdoors, away from your home and other structures. Never BBQ in an enclosed space.
  • Be present. The number one cause of fires in Brampton is unattended cooking. Never leave your BBQ or stove unattended. #LookWhileYouCook
