What is Inclusionary Zoning?

Inclusionary Zoning (IZ) is a planning tool that allows municipalities to require affordable housing in major transit station areas. IZ supports mixed-income housing developments, particularly in areas with significant transit investment where the market alone may not deliver affordable options. By adopting Inclusionary Zoning, Brampton can foster complete, inclusive communities where people of all incomes have the opportunity to live, work and enjoy their city.
