BRAMPTON, ON —The City of Brampton will begin major repairs to the underground parking garage at 8 Nelson Street West, with phase one of the project starting on Wednesday, August 13. These critical repairs will help extend the life of the facility.
To reduce disruption to transit service and traffic in the downtown core, construction will take place in phases. The Downtown Terminal’s south platform will be temporarily closed, and the following Brampton Transit routes will be redirected to temporary on-street bus stops:
- Route 501 Züm Queen Eastbound - Temporary Stop on George Street, south of Nelson Street
- Route 1/1A Queen Eastbound - Temporary Stop on George Street, north of Nelson Street
The north platform will remain operational. Signage will be posted to help riders navigate temporary stop locations.
Phase one is expected to be completed in October 2025, with phase two anticipated to follow once phase one is successfully finished.
