About the Black Community Voice Consultation
Following the launch, the City’s Black Empowerment Unit will host 10 in-person consultation sessions across Brampton, beginning in August and continuing until November. Each session will focus on key pillars of community advancement, including economic empowerment, civic engagement, youth development and social and cultural development. Session dates and locations will be announced in the coming weeks.
Insights from these conversations will inform a five-year Black Empowerment Unit Action Plan aimed at creating meaningful change across the city.
The City is also collaborating with local school boards to host youth engagement sessions during school hours in October. These sessions will provide a dedicated platform for Black youth to share their perspectives and contribute to the development of the action plan.
