​​​BRAMPTON, ON — The City of Brampton is unveiling a lineup of summer and school year recreation programs designed to inspire and connect residents of all ages. From fitness and sports to arts, wellness and preschool programs, there is something for everyone to enjoy. 

​With more than 75,000 participants last summer, and a city-wide increase in recreation programming by five per cent through the 2025 Budget, Brampton is opening registration to welcome even more residents this summer and school year.

Key dates

  • All summer programs are viewable as of Monday, May 19, at 12 am. 
  • Resident registration for most summer programs, including Sports, Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM), starts on Monday, June 2, at 6 am. 
  • School year programs registration for residents, including recital dance and preschool, begins Monday, June 2, at 6 am. These programs will begin in September 2025 and run until June 2026.
  • Registration for the Brampton Sports League summer session begins on Monday, June 2, at 6 am. This session’s offerings include volleyball, flag football and ball hockey. 
  • Learn to Swim and Learn to Skate programs resident registration is on Monday, June 23, at 6 am. 
  • Registration for most programs ends on Monday, July 22, with exceptions for school year programs.

Register for Brampton’s Youth Cricket League

Youth ages six to 15 are encouraged to learn a new sport and improve their cricket skills through the Youth Cricket League. The league has three age groups, U9, U12 and U15 and is open to players of all skill levels, from beginners to experienced cricketers. The structured format includes a mixture of practices and gameplay, providing a balanced mix of skill development and game play. The summer session will begin on July 7, with registration beginning on June 2. Newly expanded 65+ Annual Recreation Membership

The City of Brampton extended the free 70+ Annual Recreation Membership to include residents aged 65 and older. Eligible residents can enroll in the newly expanded membership. Starting June 1, 2025, those enrolled will be able to access the City’s wide range of recreational programs and services at no cost through the new free 65+ Annual Recreation MembershipResidents can visit any City of Brampton recreation centre to verify their eligibility and enroll in the new membership. Register for Summer Camps 

The City of Brampton is gearing up for an exciting 2025 Summer Camp season. This year’s offerings include sports, arts, science and outdoor adventures.  The City is looking for passionate and confident skaters to join the team as instructors or attendants. Free Skating Equipment Try-On Events

Before skating lessons begin, the City of Brampton is offering free equipment try-on events to help participants start safely and confidently. Well-fitting skates and helmets are essential for comfort, safety and skill development on the ice. Trained staff will assist with proper sizing during the event. Try-on equipment is provided and available exclusively to participants registered in skating programs. Save these dates:

Recreation program registration resources 

Online registration

To ensure a seamless online registration process, residents are asked to: 

  • Make sure you can log in to your online account in advance. 
  • Check your personal information on your account to ensure accuracy.
  • Browse programs in advance of registration day and make a shortlist.
  • Add your credit card information to your account in advance. We can no longer accept financial information over the phone or via email. 
  • Use the date range filter and select the next session date to browse available courses.
  • Do not refresh the page while payment is being processed. 
  • The Google Chrome browser provides the best user experience. 

Patrons will be added to a virtual waiting room on the day of registration to ensure a fair and equitable process and help improve the online registration experience.

Financial assistance for residents through ActiveAssist 

ActiveAssistgenerously sponsored by 407 ETR and Capital Power, is a fee subsidy program offered by the City of Brampton, designed to help low-income individuals and families in Brampton participate in recreation programs. This program is available for Brampton families who qualify. Approved applicants each receive a $275 credit, which can be used toward a wide variety of drop-in and registered​​ programs, memberships and services. Each eligible ActiveAssist participant is enrolled for a two-year period. For more information about ActiveAssist, brampton.ca/activeassist.

Verify Your Recreation Account to Keep Your Resident Benefits

Brampton residents are encouraged to verify their Brampton residency to continue enjoying priority registration and discounted rates for City recreation programs. Simply bring a valid ID with your Brampton address to any recreation centre Customer Service Desk and staff will confirm your residency and update your account on the spot. Verification is quick, valid for two years and helps ensure uninterrupted access to resident benefits. The deadline to verify your residency and keep your resident benefits is October 1, 2025.
