Remembrance Day in Brampton

​BRAMPTON, ON (November 4, 2022) – This year, Remembrance Day takes place on Friday, November 11. All essential and critical services, including Fire and Emergency Services, Traffic Services, By-Law Enforcement, Road Operations, and Security Services will continue to operate as usual to support the community.

City of Brampton honours Remembrance Day
The City of Brampton will honour Remembrance Day 2022 with a parade and service alongside Royal Canadian Legion Branches 15 and 609. In addition, there will be a number of events scheduled to honour those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Parade and Service of Remembrance
Sunday, November 6, 10:50 am – Chinguacousy Park, Memorial Plaza

The service will take place at the Chinguacousy Park Memorial Plaza. Following the service, the parade will march onto Central Park Drive South to West on Queen Street. The parade will end and a reception will begin at Royal Canadian Legion Branch 609.

Candlelight Service
Sunday, November 6, 7:30 – Veteran Statue, Gage Park

Sunrise Service
Friday, November 11, 7:55 am – Meadowvale Cemetery Main Chapel

Remembrance Day Parade and Service
Friday, November 11, 10:30 am – Memorial Square Cenotaph, within Ken Whillans Square

The parade formation will begin at 10 am in Garden Square and arrive at the Cenotaph and form in Ken Whillans Square at 10:55 am where the service will then begin. At the conclusion of the service, the Parade Commander marches the parade off and down Wellington Street. The parade will end and reception will begin at Royal Canadian Legion Branch 15.

As a tribute to Brampton’s veterans, the City will once again hang banners Downtown Brampton as part of the Veterans Banner Program. Flags at all City of Brampton facilities will be flown at half-mast.

Brampton Transit
Brampton Transit will operate on a regular weekday schedule on November 11.

War veterans can ride Brampton Transit for free on Remembrance Day by presenting any of the following items:
• Medals
• Berets
• Uniform
• Blazer
• A Brampton Transit Veteran’s Pass

Customer Service Counters at Terminals will be open. Administrative facilities, including the Lost and Found, will be closed. The Contact Centre will be available to assist from 7 am to 9 pm. For more information, call the Contact Centre at 905.874.2999 or visit www.bramptontransit.com.

Brampton Transit Veteran Pass Program

Brampton City Council and Brampton Transit are proud to honour the accomplishments and sacrifices of all Canadian Armed Forces members through the Brampton Transit Veteran Pass Program. Veterans who are residents of Brampton can ride Brampton Transit for free all year round when they present a valid Brampton Transit Veteran Pass upon boarding. Visit

All Brampton Library branches are closed on November 11.

Brampton Animal Services
The Brampton Animal Shelter will be closed on November 11.  Animal Control will be on the road from 8 am to 6:30 pm and will continue to respond to emergency calls outside of these hours.
