Changes to Brampton Transit service in response to COVID-19 effective March 31

BRAMPTON, ON (March 30, 2020) – In response to COVID-19 and to ensure Brampton Transit is serving its community safely, bus service will be changed as follows, effective March 31.

The below routes will no longer offer AM (6 AM to 9 AM) and PM (3 PM to 7 PM) Peak Period service starting tomorrow and until further notice. They will continue to offer midday service from approximately 9 AM to 3 PM, and evening service after 7 PM, per usual.

• 12 Grenoble
• 13 Avondale
• 16 Southgate
• 17 Howden
• 19 Fernforest
• 32 Father Tobin
• 33 Peter Robertson
• 56 Kingknoll

These changes will be implemented in order to re-allocate additional resources to some of Brampton Transit’s busier routes as we continue to limit bus loads to half seated capacity to support physical distancing practices.

An enhanced cleaning and disinfecting schedule remains in effect. It is Brampton Transit’s goal to disinfect all hard surfaces, operator compartments and seats every 48 hours. Facilities and terminals that have hard surfaces will be wiped down and disinfected on a daily basis. Riders are encouraged to carry their own personal disinfectant when traveling, such as hand sanitizer or wipes, and wash their hands often.

The City of Brampton is working closely with its partners at Peel Public Health and the Brampton Emergency Management Office to continue to monitor risks.
