Road closures for Winter Lights Festival in Brampton

​BRAMPTON, ON (November 12, 2019) – Holiday season is about to kick off in Brampton with Winter Lights Festival, featuring a number of events: Tree Lighting and Christmas Market on Friday, November 15, and the Santa Claus Parade and Christmas Market on Saturday, November 16.

To ensure the safety of all attendees, here are the road closures and changes that will be in effect throughout the weekend in downtown Brampton.

Friday, November 15

• Main Street South will be closed from Queen Street to Wellington Street from 5 to 11 pm
• Wellington Street West will be closed from George Street South to Main Street South from 4 to 11 pm

Brampton Transit routes 2 Main and 502 Züm Main will be on detour from 4 to 11 pm on Friday, November 15.

Saturday, November 16

• Ken Whillans Drive will be closed from Vodden Street to Church Street East from 10:30 am to 6:30 pm
• Sproule Drive will be closed from Main Street North to Ken Whillans Drive from 10:30 am to 6:30 pm
• Church Street East will be closed from Union Street to Scott Street from 10:30 am to 6:30 pm
• Main Street will be closed from Vodden Street to Charolais Boulevard from 3:30 to 8 pm
• Wellington Street will be closed from George Street to Chapel Street from 3:30 to 8 pm
• Queen Street will be closed from George Street to Centre Street from 3:30 to 8 pm
• Elgin Drive will be closed from Mill Street South to Main Street South from 12 to 10 pm

John Street and Beatty Avenue will be converted from one-way streets to two-way streets from 3:30 to 8 pm on Saturday, November 16.

Free parking is available all weekend long, beginning Friday at 7 pm, in all downtown municipal garages: City Hall, West Tower, Nelson Square, John Street and the Rose Theatre.
