Civic Holiday 2019 in Brampton

​BRAMPTON, ON (July 31, 2019) – This year, Civic Holiday takes place on Monday, August 5. As a result, a number of City services will be unavailable or will operate under reduced service levels.

Brampton City Hall will be closed on August 5. Residents will not be able to apply in person for marriage licences, book civil wedding ceremonies, pay parking fines, apply for permits, or apply for or renew business licences during this time.

Several services will continue to operate normally, including Fire and Emergency Services and City of Brampton By-law Enforcement.

Brampton Transit

Brampton Transit will follow the below schedule for the Civic Holiday weekend.

• Friday, August 2: Weekday service
• Saturday, August 3: Saturday service
• Sunday, August 4: Sunday/Holiday service
• Monday, August 5 (Civic Holiday): Sunday/Holiday service

Customer Service counters at all terminals, and the Clark and Sandalwood facilities, will be closed on Civic Holiday.

Brampton Recreation

Most recreation facilities are open over the Civic Holiday weekend. For updated drop-in program schedules and hours of operation, call your local recreation centre or 311, or visit www.brampton.ca/recreation. The City’s Recreation Administration Office will be closed on Civic Holiday.

Brampton Animal Services

Brampton Animal Shelter will be closed on Civic Holiday. For more information, call 905.458.5800 or 311, or visit www.brampton.ca/animalservices.

Brampton Library

All Brampton Library branches will be closed on Sunday, August 4 and Civic Holiday. For more information, call 905.793.4636 or 311, or visit www.bramptonlibrary.com.

Fireworks Safety

The City of Brampton will not be hosting any fireworks displays on Civic Holiday.

Civic Holiday is not one of the four days of the year when personal fireworks are allowed in the City of Brampton. For more information, visit www.brampton.ca/bylaws
