​​​​​​​Wellspring receives $475,900 Ontario Trillium Foundation grant to expand no-cost exercise and movement programs ​​

BRAMPTON, ON (September 15, 2026) – ​One of the City of Brampton’s longstanding partners in cancer care advocacy and community support, Wellspring Chinguacousy, received a $475,900 investment through the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF). The City is pleased to see this investment, which will help Wellspring expand its free, Cancer Exercise and Movement programs from its facility in northeast Brampton, into Century Gardens Recreation Centre and other locations across Brampton for the first time. The funding will also support Tai Chi and Yoga Movement Programs at Cyril Clark Library Branch.​

​Brampton celebrates alongside Wellspring Chinguacousy and MPP Hardeep Grewal, welcoming meaningful investment in local cancer supports. 

Building on its partnership with Wellspring, earlier this year,​ the Wellspring Chinguacousy Foundation received $21,250 through the City’s Advance Brampton Fund. The City looks forward to continuing to work with Wellspring to connect residents with specialized health and wellness programs and high-quality community amenities that support active living, recovery and social connection closer to home. 

Continued advocacy for Brampton’s health care priorities ​

As Brampton continues to grow, the City remains a strong advocate for the health care investments and infrastructure needed to build an integrated health system that serves the community now and into the future. 

The City continues to call on the Ontario government to advance Brampton’s second hospital and a comprehensive Cancer Care Centre at Brampton Civic Hospital, as well as provide a planning grant for a third hospital.  

The City also supports sustainable provincial funding for William Osler Health System to support the Toronto Metropolitan University School of Medicine’s clinical education program, helping grow and retain physicians locally.
