​Final roster addition announced as excitement builds for Canada’s largest charity hockey game tomorrow night at the CAA Centre

BRAMPTON, ON (August 18, 2026) – The countdown is on! With just 24 hours until puck drop at Hockey Night in Brampton 2026 2026, Toronto Maple Leafs alumni Nikolai Borschevsky has been added to the star-studded roster, with Coach Chippy also joining the coaching lineup for tomorrow night’s charity game in support of Brampton’s second hospital.

Borschevsky joins an impressive lineup led by Team Captains Mark Messier and Morgan Rielly, alongside NHL stars, hockey legends, rising talent and special guests for one of Brampton’s biggest nights of the summer.​

Renowned stickhandling specialist and Canadian national athlete Pavel Barber will showcase his skills during a live stickhandling challenge at intermission.​

Star-studded lineup

Toronto Maple Leafs alumni Nikolai Borschevsky is the latest addition to a powerhouse lineup led by Team Captains Mark Messier and Morgan Rielly. The roster features NHL stars and rising talent Dylan Strome, Owen Power, Erik Gudbranson, Michael Misa, Pavel Mintyukov and Stephen Halliday, alongside hockey legends and fan favourites Mark Giordano, Kirk Muller, Paul Coffey, Curtis Joseph, Ryan Getzlaf, Joe Kocur, Kris Versteeg and Cody Hodgson. PWHL stars Emily Clark and Jaime Bourbonnais will also hit the ice.​

Brampton talent will be well represented with Phil Oreskovic, Ethan Czata and Brampton Steelheads goaltenders Neilan Johnson and Oskari Ahmajärvi. Shoresy star Terry Ryan and CP24’s Steve Ryan round out the roster, while Doug Gilmour, Wendel Clark, Gary Roberts and Coach Chippy will be behind the bench as coaches.

Player Profile

Nikolai Borschevsky

Nikolai Borschevsky is a former Toronto Maple Leafs forward who played three seasons with the club from 1992 to 1995. He is best remembered by Leafs fans for scoring the overtime winner in Game 7 against the Detroit Red Wings in the first round of the 1993 Stanley Cup Playoffs, sending Toronto to the second round. Borschevsky recorded 158 points in 162 NHL regular-season games during his career with Toronto, Calgary and Dallas.​
