BRAMPTON, ON (August 5, 2026) – The City of Brampton has been ranked Canada's top Food and Beverage Processing Cluster by Business Facilities Magazine as part of the publication's 2026 Annual Global Rankings. This ranking recognizes Brampton's leadership in one of Canada's largest and fastest-growing sectors and reflects the City's strong food and beverage ecosystem.

Brampton's food and beverage sector drives economic growth

Brampton's food and beverage processing industry annually contributes more than $1.3 billion to Canada's GDP and employs approximately 8,500 people across 300 companies. The sector is home to multinational leaders including Maple Lodge Farms, Italpasta, Sofina Foods, Lucid Corp., and Coke Canada Bottling and has welcomed recent investments from Niche Bakers, Handi Foods, HelloFresh and Marc Angelo Foods.

Brampton's food and beverage cluster plays a vital role in economic development, driving growth across Canada's agriculture, manufacturing, retail and hospitality sectors. Recognizing the success and growing influence of Brampton's food and beverage processing sector, the City established the annual Food and Beverage Processing Summit in 2023, bringing together industry leaders, businesses and stakeholders to collaborate on innovation and support the sector's continued competitiveness and growth.
